YouTube has announced a new version of embedding code for Youtube videos . The new code will use an iframe that lets you watch both embedded videos in Flash and in HTML5, according to the users’ browser settings.

The default is to show HTML5 , and it automatically switches to Flash if HTML5 is not available.

According to YouTube, “another benefit of the new code is that in the future Youtube will play videos on mobile devices, which typically use players’ built-in” instead of Flash or HTML5. Android and iPhone phones and others use a special application to display the videos on YouTube, while the mobile browser using a plugin that detects the YouTube code and replace it by its built-in app. The new code will use the tag in HTML5 browsers that support it.

While sandboxing and HTML5 adds functionality to transfer messages, Flash is only used practically to embed content from other websites.

To embed the above video, I simple entered the following code in HTML.

Change the VIDEO_ID to your own youtube Video ID. The code is much simpler and short than the original Embed codes.

One of the questions that I had been asking is ‘why Google does not have a cloud-based program to edit and modify videos on YouTube’. And now, YouTube Now (finally) has a new simple, video editor online.

With the editor you can easily create new videos with pieces from your videos you’ve uploaded on the youtube channels. You drag the desired video programs in the timeline and for each video separately, you can edit certain parts of the video and cut\copy and edit instantly!

As for the audio, you can choose from a number of standard songs of famous and lesser known artists.

Google has launched a new website dedicated to the development of HTML5, called HTML5Rocks.com , which bring together all the resources, themes, developing APIs and functionality for anyone interested in this language.

Everyone has a Google Account, but just in case, if you do not have a Google account, the company has just launched a new site for anyone who wants to try Google Docs can do so without having an account. The exact address would docs.google.com/demo.

From this new move Google aims to capture as many users as possible and compete more strongly with Microsoft Office.

On opening the demo site, we would find a document that will give us some guidelines on how to start writing with Google docs. What needs to be clear is that there is an option to share or collaborate with others in Real time. The document would be available for 24 hours after its creation.

The new document comes with a link that enables you to invite others to collaborate on the issue (these users will NOT be invited to have a Google account).

I’ve always had this question in my mind. Which search engine do people use if Google fails?. According to the latest study of Chitika , Google users do not find what you seek try again first on Yahoo and Ask.com and then Bing.

The following graph, we can see the percentages of search engines that Google users use when they find something wrong with the Google Search:

The study took 40,000 users who searched the same and looked at where they went when the result on Google was not satisfactory or when Google was down (although that never happens). Surprisingly, the data showed that very few Google users, used Bing as first alternate, and the high regard they have to Ask, and Yahoo.

49.5% of the people searched Yahoo, the 30.29% in Ask, and only 16.4% in Bing. Numbers do look strange eh?

The latest study by Chitika, the first search result on Google receives twice the clicks than the second result and three times the third.

According to data gathered in searches of Google, the first results received for 35% of clicks, the second gets 17% and third 12%. But above all that the biggest leap of visits to appear on the first page of results. The pages at # 10, the end of the first page of results, were 143% more visits than the first result of the second page # 11.

These data confirmed that SEO is most important to be on the top of the web search results.

Nokia N900 is a powerful hardware phone with a high-frequency operating processor, with a Nokia’s new Maemo Operating system. Recently, some of the tests of installing Google Chrome on the portable Nokia N900 worked like charm with embedded flash player.  Chrome is a popular browser on the PC for surfing the web by Google.

According the reports from Statcounter.com, yesterday google.co.hk (the Google domain for Hong Kong)  had an all time high number of page visits.

The two curves represent the growing competition between search engines – Baidu, Yahoo, Bing and Google. While search engines like yahoo, bing, ask etc stand on something above 0 to 0.3% of the traffic source, Google and Baidu stand above 45% of the traffic graph.

After the update of Google moving from China (Google.cn) to Google Hong Kong (google.com.hk) Google traffic reached an all time high which crossed the Baidu traffic.

I’m sure, no matter what happens in China, People still love Google and will find more ways to use it!

Now that Google indexes the updates from the Facebook fan pages, surely many companies would start to show promotional support to advertise on the Facebook fan page and track the converisations and all that can’t be easy without the help of the search engine giant..

For these steps to work Google Analytics needs to be included as an image rather than as a JavaScript code. Since Facebook doesn’t support\allow users to add JavaScript to the pages.

Here is how to convert the javascript to the image format:

1. Create a new profile in Google analytics for a Facebook fan page. You can call or facebook.com or facebook.com / [name]. Get the code from Google analytics in this format UA-3123123-2

2. Visit the site http://ga.webdigi.co.uk/ and generate HTML-IMG tag code needed for EACH page you wish to track.

3. Add the HTML IMG tag at the bottom of Facebook pages to crawl.

Update – 08\03\10: Lots of People are asking me on how to add the HTML IMG tag at the facebook pages on Step 3. Here is how:

- You need to add an application called Static FBML to your Facebook Page first.
- Then it would show in your Facebook Pages’ Editing section
- Now click on ‘Edit’ below FBML section and add the IMG tag (Here is the example page)

Oh yeah, Google just kicked the Google parody site GoogleXistence.com out of existence. It’s a fake, funny site which talks about the social media going gaga over Web 2.0. We all know that and we think we can do it all in a simple click of a button. I’m sure it would more easy if someone could update your status automatically, or send emails automatically?

Here comes to our aid “Google Xistence: Google let live it for you, or let Google live for you”.

Although this is a fake, funny parody of Google it’s a nice idea and a good joke. According to Mashable, the site Google Xistence was created by Australian web designers Philipp Drössle.

Well, Google is rushing to send out a press release stating completely out of it. Drössle(the creator) has done his part by posting on Twitter:

Xistence is not a real product, and not in any way related to Google. Neither am I. Also, this was neither a scam nor a phishing attempt.
